wow! Has it really been this long?

I can't believe it's been this long! I've been doing so many things between my last post and today. I've been revamping my website, revamping my jewelry, starting a new bath & body line, working, being a mom and a future wife :). lol...admist the craziness...and yeah..that even means within me...I'm trying hard to make it work.

here's a little preview :)

My website...http://tophujewelry.com/is sooooo not even near done. I think I signed on with a webhost that SUCKS!! I have to ride out the rest of the year with them and then I'm moving on to another one. But in the mean time and in between time hopefully I can have some jewelry up by the end of this year. I'm trying not to rush it because I want to get it right. I have new ideas and I can't wait to put them into play.

Ruth from Allover Art gave me the opportunity to be featured on her blog on June 1, 2009! This is so exciting for me because this is my first feature! You can check it out on http://alloverart-nc.blogspot.com/. Thank you!!!! :)

She featured a few of my pieces, the Golden Goddess Earrings, The Bahamian Island Necklace and the Love or Lust Earrings; all are still available in my etsy shop…www.tophujewelry.com.

Gettin' Goin......

Wow, I can’t believe it’s almost a week since I last blogged. I’ve been trying to get it together as alwaysJ. I’ve been trying to get my supply stash up; I’ve been researching for different craft fairs and events to attend. I’ve applied to one boutique just today, so we will see what the outcome is…..

oh wait….

I MADE MY FIRST SALE!!!!! They purchased the ‘Bahamian Island’ Necklace….very very sweet piece, I’m sure they will love it! Thank you thank you to my first buyer!!! Hey I relisted it, so it's up for grabs for the last time. You will be 1/2 people in the world with it....isn't that the point? :) Just go to http://www.tophujewelry.com

Bahamian Island Necklace

…okay…that was a huge announcement..lol…but I was saying that I applied to a boutique here in Atlanta, so it’s only a matter of time when I will hear feedback. There is one shop I visit regularly in Atlanta, I am going to make a trip to see the owner next week, show her my jewelry and try to get in where I fit in! lol I’m pretty confident someone will love my jewelry enough to let me have a little itty bitty spot in their shop. I’m also okay to taking rejections…hell it’s all part of life…I’ll be alright.

I will be showcasing give-a-way by the end of next week. It will probably be open for about 1-2 weeks, but like I mentioned, keep your eyes and your ears open….

It’s getting closer to the EAOC ‘s summer treasury. I decided to donate a pair of earrings, so now I have to put my thinking cap on to figure out the design. I can’t wait for that to start.

New Listings

I added new pieces to my listings. One piece is a pair of earrings called "Hypnotized" which I tihnk are sooo cute. They are made of all antique copper components, with golden metallic crystals...and two small chains hang low.

I think they are so darn cute! I told myself, if someone stared at these babies for so long (out of envy) they will get hypnotized because they are sooo cute. Okay I know I keep saying that but they are cute....and they are only $16 little ones!

It's been a long week!!!

It's been a VERY long week! OMG! Let's start off with this past weekend.

I went to the Intergalactic Bead Show on Saturday and Sunday and I had THE BEST time. I met a few folks and bought LOTS of supplies for my jewelry stash. Some of the vendors had some beautiful stuff, vintage (my thang!), crystals, gemstones, gold, sterling silver...the list goes on. I spent wayyyy to much than I planned to, but I guess it's okay..

You have to spend money to make money.
Speaking of making money, I still havent had a sale on ETSY yet :( . I manage to sell A LOT of jewelry in live but not on ETSY yet??? But I'm not worried about it. I know I'll have plenty of sales down the road. I'm still trying to get my inventory stash up, and that has a lot to do with it.

For this summer is going to be a busy one! I'm going to apply to be a vendor in at least 3-4 shows throughout Atlanta.

Indie Craft Experience/Kraftwork is one. Here is the announcement from their website (click on their logo for more info)
"Kraftwork is the ATL’s monthly indie craft market hosted by Young Blood Gallery & Boutique and the Indie Craft Experience. Each month features a showcase of crafters, snacks, cocktails and good times! See photos of Kraftwork here!
Join us the first Thursday of every month 7-10 p.m. at Young Blood - 636 N. Highland Ave. Atlanta, GA 30306"

there are a few others, but I'll post about them when it's official.
I'm going to do my first feature in a about a week. I'm going to go around and find talented independent artists and designers like myself...and do a mini write up on them. I already have a few people in mind....so stay tuned....
Currently redirects to my etsy instead of my own website. I think I"m going to keep it like this for a minute until I get a webhost that I'm really going to like. I wasn't too happy with the company I hosted through...
